Mexican Travel 365 - - Those planning a trip to Mexico in the near future will be pleased to know a new art exhibit has been constructed near the Yucatan. Inmates in Chetumal, Mexico, are making art- creating furniture, sculptures, and other crafts.

Many prisons sell prisoner art in Mexico. It is not uncommon for the juvenile center to have art classes for the children. Psychologist think the children need an escape, and the art provides that. Depending on the prison, the prisoners my actually be in contact with the public. Some artist will visit a prison for inspiration or to pay a compliment.

Whatever the reason for art in the prison the art, prison employees say violence has been nonexistent!
